HOW TO GET TO SONOBUDOYO MUSEUM?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is a cheap public transport to get there. Trans Jogja Bus. Ticket only IDR 4,000. First, you must go to halte bus/bus stop of Trans Jogja. Then, you must reach to Main Post office halte (halte Kantor Pos Besar) or Vredeburg Shelter (SO 1 Maret halte) , and then take a walk to museum. Ask to the operator if you still confused.

From Tugu Railway Station :

God’s Head Statue

*) It was found in 1956 in Pathuk, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. The statue is special because it was made of bronze and platted by gold and considered as Budha’s symbol.

Nekara & Moko

*) Nekara (left) used for calling rain in prehistorical time. Moko (right) was made from bronze using molding technique. Moko was a sacred thing owned by tribal leader and inherited to their son. Moko was also used as bride price, exchange tools and musical instrument.

*) This old textile full of script or mantra to avoid bad luck. In the past time, they use this textile for covering baby who always crying. After covered, more calm.
