THE ONLY ONE “FRESH WATER SNORKELING” CLOSE FROM YOGYA
This pond is the only one spring that can use for snorkeling. Other spring can not use for snorkeling because too small. You can swim and learn diving in this place.
You visiting exotic place and so natural. Fresh water very refreshing.
You also can see fish, sand and rock under the water. Just like in the sea.
The entry ticket are very cheap.

Snorkeling at UMBUL PONGGOK = Rp20,000 (include Glasses, Fin, Life Vest and Snorkel).
Underwater camera = Rp60.000 per 30 minutes

This place are close to beautiful UNMAINSTREAM place. Such as, xx and xx etc. It just only one way to the site. So, you spend your time effectively to visit these place.

About 40km to north-east from downtown Yogyakarta or about 45 minutes.
HOW TO GET TO THE UMBUL PONGGOK:
There is no direct public transport over there.
Better you rent a car or motorcycle for cheap one. Invite local person as a guide (Couchsurfer) for good reason.
*) It’s hard to find the place for new visitor. You can ask to people that you met in the street. But, you have take off your helmet and turn off the engine. This is the local manner. Otherwise, it’s not polite.

There are strong signal for your cell phone.
There are some cafe or restaurant.
*) For foreigner i recommend: Don’t drink with ice cube in any restaurant or street food in Indonesia, because indonesian ice cube made from not boiled water. It contain bacteria (E. Coli) that can makes stomach problem or diarrhea. Indonesian intestine become immune (adapted) to this bacteria, but not for expat (american and european especially).

Some bathroom and toilet. Better bring your on tissue.
*) Don’t forget to bring your towel and extra clothes
**) This is pretty quiet place, but to get more quiet, better do not visit on weekend.
