This event will attended by local, tourists and communities from Ketandan chinese town.

CHINESE CULTURE WEEK
There will be a lot of Chinese cultural show.

DANCE & DRAGON COMPETITION
There will be dance competition and dragon festival to entertain the visitors.

WHAT IS PBTY?

DESCRIPTION:

PBTY or Yogyakarta Chinese Culture Festival (Pekan Budaya Tionghoa Yogyakarta) is annual event to celebrate Chinese New Year. It located in the heritage Ketandan Chinese Town near Malioboro street.

This festival held some entertainment in the main stage such as music, dance, magic, dragon  attractions and typical songs of Chinese New Year celebrations. Yogyakarta Chinese Culture Festival also held several competitions, including fairytale competitions, poetry competitions in Chinese, Mandarin karaoke competitions and photography competitions.

Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of a street full of Chinese celebration trinkets and various kinds of traditional Chinese culinary delights you can also enjoy here, including rice cake, go meh, dim sum and wedang kacang.

HOW TO GET TO THE LOCATION?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is a cheap public transport to get there. Trans Jogja Bus. Ticket only IDR 3,500. You must go to halte bus/bus stop of Trans Jogja. Then, you must reach to Malioboro 2 halte/shelter. Ask to the operator if you still confused. Operator will glad to give information. :-)

From Adi Sutjipto Airport :
Please take Route 1A – Stop in Malioboro 2 shelter (halte)
Then, please take a walk to the site.
From Tugu Railway Station :
Please take a walk to the site.
From Lempuyangan Railway Station :
Please take Route 4A – Stop in SMPN5 shelter (halte)
Then, please take Route 3A – Stop in Malioboro 2 shelter (halte)
Please take a walk to the site.
From Giwangan Bus Station :
please take Route 3B – Stop in PKU Muhammadiyah shelter/halte,
then, please take a walk to the site.
From Jombor Bus Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Malioboro 2 shelter (halte)
Then, please take a walk to the site.

*) Trans Jogja operates from 5:30 am until 9:30 pm.

**) You can also use Go-jek or Grab transport. Their price reasonable, but you have to install the apps first and the driver may not be able to speak english.

*) I really love this ‘Angkringan’. Unlike other Angkringan, this one more colorful and has chinese nuance.
