OLD EVENT REBORN
Yogyakarta Sultan palace musician already gone since 1940.
It’s the reborn after almost 80 years stuck and not active.

FREE
It’s free music show.
But, you need to pay the Sultan palace entrance fee.

WHAT IS MUSIKAN MANDALASANA?

DESCRIPTION:

Musikan Mandalasana music show is a monthly event in Yogyakarta Sultan palace. This music event was created by KPH Notonegoro as the head of  unit in the palace that deals with the performing arts.

Musikan was a music group consist of Sultan’s musician who deals with the performing arts in Sultan’s event such as wedding party, welcoming special  guest and coronation of King. This group perform was stop for eight decades and the musician already gone. The last performance was recorded in 1940 on the King coronation event.

In 2019 KPH Notonegoro as the one who responsible the performing arts in Yogyakarta Sultan palace started to awakening this group. As the result, the first performance was held in October 27th, 2019. Music performance titled ‘Mandalasana for Bhinneka’ in the Bangsal Mandalasana in Yogyakarta Sultan palace.

Today in 2020 the music perform held every month and done by students from the music school and university in Yogyakarta.

HOW TO GET TO SULTAN PALACE?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is a cheap public transport to get there. Trans Jogja Bus. Ticket only IDR 4,000. First, you must go to halte bus/bus stop/shelter of Trans Jogja. Then, you must reach to Beteng Vredeburg Shelter (SO 1 Maret halte) or Main Post Office halte (halte Kantor Pos Besar), and then take a walk to the palace. Ask to the operator if you still confused.
Operator will glad to give information. 🙂

From Adi Sutjipto Airport :
please take Route 1A – Stop in Beteng Vredeburg Shelter (SO 1 Maret halte)
then please take a walk to the Sultan palace (Kraton)
From Tugu Railway Station :
please take Route 1A or 2A – Stop in Beteng Vredeburg Shelter (SO 1 Maret halte)
then please take a walk to the Sultan palace (Kraton)
From Giwangan Bus Station :
please take Route 3B – Stop in Pojok Beteng Wetan Shelter,
then please take Route 2B – Stop in Kantor Pos Besar Shelter
then please take a walk to the Sultan palace (Kraton)
From Jombor Bus Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Beteng Vredeburg Shelter (SO 1 Maret halte)
then please take a walk to the Sultan palace (Kraton)

*) Trans Jogja operates from 5:30 am until 9:30 pm.

**) You can also use an online transport such as Go-jek or Grab. They have reasonable price.
