This fruit garden promoted by local government since 2010.

WHERE IS IT?

LOCATION:
Village (Desa): Mangunan
Sub-district (Kecamatan): Dlingo
Regency (Kabupaten): Bantul
Province (Provinsi): Yogyakarta

DISTANCE:
About 40 km to south from downtown Yogyakarta or about 1  hour.

HOW TO GET TO MANGUNAN?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
You can use Trans Jogja to Giwangan bus station (Terminal bis Giwangan), ticket about IDR4000. Then change bus, from Giwangan bus station to Imogiri.  You stop on Imogiri bus station. Then, take a taxi motor to the Mangunan fruit garden. Better you rent a car or motorcycle for cheap one. Invite local person as guide (Couchsurfer) for good reason.

From Adi Sutjipto Airport :
please take Route 3B – Stop in Giwangan Bus station (Terminal Bis Giwangan)
please take a bus to Imogiri  – Stop at Imogiri bus station.
Then, take the taxi motor to the Mangunan fruit garden.
From Tugu Railway Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Tungkak shelter/halte.
Then, take Route 4A – Stop in Giwangan Bus station (Terminal Bis Giwangan)
please take a bus to Imogiri  – Stop at Imogiri bus station.
Then, take the taxi motor to the Mangunan fruit garden.
From Jombor Bus Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Tungkak shelter/halte.
Then, take Route 4A – Stop in Giwangan Bus station (Terminal Bis Giwangan)
please take a bus to Imogiri  – Stop at Imogiri bus station.
Then, take the taxi motor to the Mangunan fruit garden.
From Giwangan Bus Station :
please take a bus to Imogiri  – Stop at Imogiri bus station.
Then, take the taxi motor to the Mangunan fruit garden.

*) Trans Jogja operates from 5:30 am until 9:30 pm.

**) It always hard (impossible) to find a bus in early morning. Better you rent a motorcycle from Yogyakarta. Start 4 A.M if you don’t want miss sunrise.

***) It’s very hard to find the place for new visitor. You can ask to people that you met in the street. But, you have take off your helmet and turn off the engine. This is the local manner. Otherwise, it’s not polite.

*) On summer, sometime the forest getting brown color. The Mangunan fruit garden will looks like abandon place cause they have not enough water.

Rp5,000/person.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?

SUNRISE
At least you arrived on site at 5.00 am

OPEN HOURS:
5 A.M – 6 P.M

*) For watching SUNRISE at MANGUNAN better you leave from Yogya at 4.00 am.

THE FRUITS AT MANGUNAN

*) Don’t think that you can eat every kind of fruits. Your visit should match with harvest time, so you can eat the fruit that you love.

There are some simple cafe.

*) For foreigner i recommend: Don’t drink with ice cube in any restaurant or street food in Indonesia, because indonesian ice cube made from not boiled water. It contain bacteria (E. Coli) that can makes stomach problem or diarrhea. Indonesian intestine become immune (adapted) to this bacteria, but not for expat (american and european especially).

Some restroom and toilet. Better bring your own tissue.

SUNRISE AT MANGUNAN

*) If you want see sunrise with cloud above the river, it should rain in the last night before. Otherwise, you won’t found the cloud/fog above the river.

GET A BIG PICTURE ABOUT MANGUNAN FROM VIDEO:

*) Even the concept is fruit garden, but people comes here for the sunrise and panorama view. Don’t expect too much to this fruit garden or don’t think that you can eat your favorite fruit. It looks like abandon place, especially in the summer. But, the sunrise and panorama are worth it.
