DESCRIPTION:
Lauhan ceremony is a ceremony to commemorate the crowning of Sultan Hamengku Buwono. Labuhan ceremony performed on the Parangkusumo beach and some mountains. Mount Merapi and Mount Lawu. In every eight years they will held additional Labuhan ceremony on Dlepih village, Tirtomoyo district, Wonogiri regency. Those places chosen as ceremony place because of historical reason. Those places believed as interconnection of founding father of Mataram kingdom to Supranatural figure. The Supranatural figure is believed involved in the establishment of Mataram kingdom. Since that time, there is belief that every King/Sultan in power must continue this heritage ceremony.
Labuhan ceremony held in every year. The Sultan servants (abdi dalem) bring the gift or offering to Supranatural figure after praying. The Yogyakarta palace believes that with the traditional/heritage Labuhan ceremony will build safety, peace and prosperity of society and country. The Yogyakarta people feels has this traditional/heritage ceremony and consider Labuhan ceremony as needs to be preserved.

HOW TO GET TO THE LOCATION?
PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
You can use Trans Jogja to Giwangan bus station (Terminal bis Giwangan), ticket about IDR 3500. Then change bus, from Giwangan bus station to Parangtritis. Then, stop at Parangkusumo beach. Then, take a take a walk to the beach. Ask bus operator if you confused. Operator will glad to give information.
From Adi Sutjipto Airport :
please take Route 3B – Stop in Giwangan Bus station (Terminal Bis Giwangan)
Then take a small bus to Parangtritis beach – Stop at Parangkusumo beach
From Tugu Railway Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Tungkak shelter/halte.
Then, take Route 4A – Stop in Giwangan Bus station (Terminal Bis Giwangan)
Then take a small bus to Parangtritis beach – Stop at Parangkusumo beach
From Jombor Bus Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Tungkak shelter/halte.
Then, take Route 4A – Stop in Giwangan Bus station (Terminal Bis Giwangan)
