Kembang Soka consist of two words, Kembang and Soka. It’s a Javanese language. Kembang means flower. Soka is a kind of flower. So, Kembang Soka means a Soka flower. This place has so many Soka flower around and has a beautiful waterfall. Kembang Soka offering natural atmosphere, clear water and fresh air.

*) Better you visit in early morning. It’s more quiet and good water clarity before visitor coming.
**) If you prefer quiet atmosphere, better visit on weekdays. Also don’t visit on Indonesian holiday.

*) This wooden bridge so slippery after rain. The wet mud under your sandals make you slipped when you step on the wooden bridge. Just be careful.

HOW TO GET TO KEMBANG SOKA WATERFALL?
There is no direct public transport over there.
Better you rent a car or motorcycle for cheap one. Invite local person as guide (Couchsurfer) for cheap reason.
*) I suggest you to take road through Nanggulan, Kulonprogo. It has wide road, good asphalt and easy way to reach Kembang Soka waterfall. Also you will see nice rice terrace landscape and forest view.

*) The Kembang Soka water volume on dry season maybe not so much. But, it has good water clarity compare to wet season.

*) The stones here has so many different color. Seems it has different mineral composition. Even i found some coral fossil here. It’s nice topic to be discussed. Maybe any Geologist can explain about this topic by putting a comment in this post?

There are some simple cafe.
*) For foreigner i recommend: Don’t drink with ice cube in any restaurant or street food in Indonesia, because indonesian ice cube made from not boiled water. It contain bacteria (E. Coli) that can makes stomach problem or diarrhea. Indonesian intestine become immune (adapted) to this bacteria, but not for foreigner (american and european especially).
**) I recommend you to have lunch or meals at Kopi Pari. The food so delicious and you can try the local coffee from this area. Don’t worry about the price. It’s super cheap! It’s really local price.

*) This natural pond is favorite place for swimming. The water so cold and fresh. If you want to get best water clarity, better you visit in early morning when visitor not coming yet.
