WHAT IS GESING BEACH?
Pantai Gesing is a beach in Gunung Kidul Regency that has a very stunning beauty but not much in the exposure and the visit of the tourists.
Location of Gesing beach is in Panjomolyo, Girikarto village, sub District Panggang, District Gunung Kidul. If the traveller wants to this beach, from the city center are suggested to be through Imogiri – Panggang which will cut travel time to 1 hour.
Gesing Beach Between Two Cliff
The road to reach the Gesing beach is relatively easy and very comfortable, but the backpacker traveler must be careful when driving a vehicle to get to the site. Some locations there is also damaged roads and some roads still limestone based forming cemented road. To reach this location is not too difficult, cause so many name board signs that show the direction to reach the Gesing beach. So, do not be afraid to get lost.
Gesing beach is a beach that has charming white sand and in the mix with some rocks large and small that are in Area of beach. As well as Gesing beach is also flanked by two large cliffs and adds to the distinctive characteristics of the beach Gesing.
Gesing beach also becomes port for local fisherman. There is also auction which will be crowded in the morning when the fishermen back from ocean. If the traveler want to order food in the simple resto are available. The restaurant offering seafood which typical with a fairly spicy flavor.

HOW TO GET TO GESING BEACH?
There is no direct public transport over there.
*) Better you rent a car or motorcycle for cheap one. Invite local person as guide (Couchsurfer) for good reason. It’s hard to find the place for new visitor. You can ask to people that you met in the street. But, you have take off your helmet and turn off the engine. This is the local manner. Otherwise, it’s not polite.
**) Today you can use Google maps as your navigation, but there is no signal on the beach. The road to the beach also broken and so many holes.
***) After Gunung Kidul government repair the road, it’s so easy to reach this Gesing beach.
HOW MUCH IT COST?
ENTRANCE FEE TICKET:
*) After government repaired road to the beach, they charge the entrance fee. Here the update for entrance fee:
Government retribution: IDR 5K per person.
Beach management fee: IDR 5K per person.
Car parking fee: IDR 5K per person.
*) These price based on my last visit on March 24th, 2019.
*) There are so many seafood restaurant in Gesing beach, i prefer have a lunch at “Warung Makan Lestari” because it relative more cheap and tasty than other restaurant.
MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL:
There is no signal for your smartphone.
There are some simple seafood restaurant.
Some Bathroom and toilet. Better bring your own tissue.
*) If you like quiet sensation, better you not visit on weekend.
**) The wave are calm, regular and has good consistency.
***) So many fly in the restaurant, it based on my experience. Better don’t visit the restaurant when fly breeding season.
