Batik is the most authentic and favorite textile in Java and Indonesia probably.
In the past time, only the richman who has and wear Batik.

PHILOSOPHY & MYTH
Every pattern in Batik has philosophy and myth.
But, today not much young people understand about that.
They just wear Batik cause loves the pattern and color.

The entry ticket is very cheap, only Rp20,000.

BATIK COURSE
You can take Batik course if you really want to know how to make Batik.
Long process and be patient needed to make Batik cause it is handmade.

WHAT IS BATIK MUSEUM?

DESCRIPTION:

Yogyakarta Batik Museum was developed on May 12, 1977 on the effort of Hadi Nugroho household. The museum lies at Jalan Dr. Sutomo establishment 400 sheets of batik collection as well as some devices of batik. Batik collection at the gallery is not just derived from Yogyakarta, but from numerous other locations on the Indonesian batik specialists. The gallery additionally keeps a collection of batik oldest dating from the 1700s. Not just batik, you can also see a compilation of hand needlework right here, even MURI been awarded for works such as the biggest needleworks on fabric batik determining 90 x 400 cm2.

HOW TO GET TO BATIK MUSEUM?

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
There is a cheap public transport to get there. Trans Jogja Bus. Ticket only IDR 4,000. First, you must go to halte bus/bus stop of Trans Jogja.  Then, you must reach to Gayam halte (halte Gayam), and then take a walk to museum. Ask to the operator if you still confused.
Operator will glad to give information. 🙂

From Adi Sutjipto Airport :
please take Route 1B – Stop in Kusumanegara shelter/halte
Then, please take Route 2A – Stop in Gayam shelter/halte
Then, please take a walk to the museum
From Tugu Railway Station :
please take Route 2A – Stop in Gayam shelter/halte
Then, please take a walk to the museum
From Giwangan Bus Station :
please take Route 3A – Stop in Rejowinangun shelter/halte
Then, please take Route 2A – Stop in Gayam shelter/halte
Then, please take a walk to the museum
From Jombor Bus Station :
please take Route 2B – Stop in Gayam shelter/halte
Then, please take a walk to the museum
