The magnificent of Temple always charming and invite a lot of visitor/traveler to come. If you found the entrance fee of Borobudur temple, Prambanan temple and Ratu Boko temple so expensive, maybe you are right. Don’t worry, we have a list of alternative temples which is charming and the ticket so cheap, even some are free entrance fee. Just pay for parking of your scooter.

So if you’re wondering where to go, here’s our take on the budget temples has to offer.

1. visiting mendut temple which is has a big buddha statue inside & PAWON TEMPLE

If you can not go to Borobudur temple cause very expensive entrance fee. Don’t worry, there are two temples which near from Borobudur. These temple also important for buddhist beside Borobudur temple. The entrance fee only US$0.3 for two temples.

Mendut Temple

During the ‘Waisak’ ceremony, monk and buddhist praying in here. Then, they walking to the Borobudur together in the Vesak night by bringing candles.

Pawon Temple

Entrance fee: Rp3500 (include Pawon temple)
2. VISITING PLAOSAN TEMPLE (TWIN TEMPLE)

If you can not go to Prambanan temple cause very expensive entrance fee. Don’t worry, there is one temples which is near from Prambanan. The entrance fee only US$0.3 for this temples.

It has a magic sights when sunrise or sunset or even in the noon.  Surrounded by rice paddies and sometime fog in the morning, you won’t regret visiting this temple.

3. visiting THE HIGHEST ‘IJO’ TEMPLE + SUNSET

If you can not go to Ratu Boko temple for sunset cause very expensive entrance fee. Don’t worry, there is one temples which is near from Ratu Boko temple. The entrance fee is FREE for this temples. You pay only for parking of your scooter/car.

The sunset view also beautiful, just like at Ratu Boko temple. Worth it to be visited.

4. SAMBISARI TEMPLE (LOWER GROUND TEMPLE)

Maybe this temple could attract you. Yes, it founded at under ground. Burried by volcano materials hundred years ago. This temple become witness how big the eruption of volcano in the past time. A disaster makes the civilization moves to east java in the past time.

5.  the GEBANG temple

How about visiting temple then go around the reservoir?
This small temple is far away from houses and near to the river. In the end of the river you will found a reservoir.

After visiting Gebang temple, you can visit Tambakboyo reservoir, you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere here.
