Totally agree. Should also try the roadside stall selling nasi kucing aka cat rice due to its little portion. Best would be the variation of side dishes on bamboo stick. If you fancy travelling while experiencing local lifestyle…this is the place to go. 😉

I couldn´t really get the idea of that kopi, but I loved it! Not only the coffee (which is good), but also the atmosphere of the place where it´s served. Thanks for taking me there.

Angkringan is amongst one of my favourite local things to try. You order kopi joss(coffee with burning coal), sit along the streets, chill and chat. You can’t get more earthy. Besides, the coffee taste really good too! (Remember to put a flower in your hair :p)

You can’t do this in Singapore, right? Siting on the ground, drinking coffee, chill and chat. If you do this in Singapore, they will say: “Are you crazy?”…Hahaha…Truly different world!

Yes, you have ask the seller to get half the sugar.
Otherwise, it will be too sweet.
And if without sugar, it will be bitter.
Well, you should know how much is your sugar portion to add in your coffee Joss.

Hello. Sounds good and must try to taste it soon..btw..can i ask if what kind of charcoal did they used to plunged in that kopi joss..is it the regular charcoal or the activated charcoal? thank you

        1. kunzyogya Post author

          Hello.
          It’s regular charcoal.
But, since the regular charcoal burned till become ember,
then you can say it was an activation process (physical activation).
So, when the kopi joss seller put the very hot charcoal (ember) into the coffee drink,
it’s already activated actually. It’s an activated charcoal in your ‘kopi joss’ coffee.
