*) You can remove some destination if you feel not too important for you. Such as: Mangut Beong Fish, Bebek Bacem, Museum etc. You also can split the Itinerary for the next day if you feel too rush for your trip or you feel tired.

**) It always hard (impossible) to find a bus in early morning. Better you rent a scooter from Yogyakarta. Start 4 A.M if you don’t want miss sunrise.

***) This itinerary can be done if you ride a car or scooter, not public transport. Sometime a bus (public transport) wait for passengers to get fully load and you have to change the bus again and again. So, you gonna waste your time when traveling by a bus.

****) Today traffic getting busy & crowded, you have to remove Malioboro street & Vredeburg museum from the itinerary, because there is no time for catching sunset at Prambanan if you visit those places.

If you need transport, you can contact me.
My old brother is a driver, he drive so gently and he can speak english very well.
All in package (car, driver & gasoline) to Borobudur temple, Pawon Luwak coffee, Lunch, Merapi volcano museum (riding adrenaline jeep to ruined village), sunset at Prambanan and any other destination/sights (if the spare time possible to visit it). Cost = Rp550.000. Maximum 5 persons for one car for 12 hours. Departing from Yogya at 4.00 am for sunrise.

Thank you for the post. I just want to ask about what if I rent a motorcycle to go to borobudur temple if i stay around malioboro street?

      It would be great.
Off course rent a scooter is a good choice for backpacker’s budget.
Also it would be more flexible and mobile to go around.
But, you have to know how to reach Borobudur temple from Malioboro st.
You can use your gadget, maps or GPS to reach the temple.
Also if you are foreigner, you have to know how is condition of our traffic.
Some foreigners says it’s crazy traffic. Whole people are crazy driver.
In this case, forget about renting a scooter/motorcycle.
I recommend you to take a tour or rent a car + driver.

      Hi,

Well, it’s challenging when near to the top.
Overall it is not challenging et all.
Even Kalibiru is more challenging than Setumbu hill.

      Cheers.
